OUR VISION
Through its efforts, Mother’s Day Radio will help to create a space in mainstream media that honors and accurately represents women, thereby revolutionizing the way in which young women view themselves.

Mother’s Day Radio is focused on the need to create a space on the airwaves that acknowledges the beauty, strength, character, vision, leadership and love of the women of the world. Our goal is to organize and implement successfully a call to action that results in an annual day of rest from music with misogynistic lyrical content and a day of uplifting music on the radio for women. This annual Day of Rest and Uplift launched on Saturday, May 12th of Mother’s Day weekend 2007.

A Day of Rest
For one day each year, beginning on Mother’s Day weekend of 2007, the radio stations will play no songs with lyrics that denigrate or objectify women.

A Day of Uplift
In place of these songs, radio stations will play songs with lyrics that represent the traditional greatness, wisdom and value of women in our society.
